Mirror of Clear Water: Latest acquisitions of paintings and photographs of India

30th March, 2011 - 28th April, 2011

For his forthcoming exhibition set to take place during Islamic Arts Week in London, Prahlad Bubbar is presenting a selection of latest acquisitions of miniature paintings and vintage photography. Outstanding works include two monumental painted records of a tiger and a boar, a fine Deccani portrait of a Sufi, a rare miniature painting of Sharabha (the two-headed, feline manifestation of Shiva), and a unique portrait of the Nawab of Rampur, a photograph on ivory enhanced with opaque watercolours. Prahlad Bubbar is a respected dealer specialising in Indian paintings and works of art relating to the Maharajas, who has handled works of historical importance and made significant scholarly contributions to the field over the past decade.
